2015 VW Golf R Car Review

The 2015 VW Golf R brings the fun back to driving, with its sleek design, great off-road performance and specially designed tires. With an unmatched blend of performance, great looks and ease of use, the VW Golf R truly makes driving a fun experience. Volkswagen have always been known for manufacturing high-performance hatchbacks and their latest model in the Golf series takes things to a whole new level. Although design fanatics may argue that the latest Golf R design is a deviation from the earlier, much celebrated Golf models, this new beast is capable of great things both on and off the road.

Design

The interiors of the 2015 VW Golf R are a pleasure to look at and the controls a breeze to use. The interior is well laid out with easily accessible and well-designed controls. It oozes charisma and flair, with brushed carbon fibre, 18-inch alloys, R-line grille, roof top rear spoiler and the blue ambient lighting.

The interiors sport a central 5.8inch touchscreen navigation system which provides you with rear view and navigation controls. The steering wheel has a premium race car feel with a flattened bottom. The front seats and bolstered and the interior snug and comfortable.

Performance

At the heart of the 2015 VW Golf R is a 2 litre four cylinder turbo engine based on latest EA888 technology and a six-speed transmission, available both in automatic and manual variants. The high point of the car’s stability control is the efficient 4MOTION system with Haldex controls that effectively distribute weight and torque to each of the four wheels. This makes for a comfortable and easy drive even in trying and precarious conditions. The built in user modes offer drivers a lot to play with in terms of type of use and the superior handling makes this the ideal car for wet or iced roads.
