Audi A3 Wins 2014 World Car of the Year Title

The four ringed automobile giant Audi reached yet another milestone when the Audi A3 was awarded the 2014 World Car of the Year title. Audi had won the same title in an inaugural event back in 2005. This win is indicated as a significant win in the manufacturer’s ten year history. When compared to the 23 strong competitors it was competing against, the third generation Audi A3 has truly emerged as the best car around the world. The A3 got its rightful win voted by an international panel of jury and automotive journalists brought together from 22 different nations across the globe.

Rupert Stadler, Audi AG’s Chairman said, “The Audi A6 was the first winner of this award and we are delighted that the Audi A3 has repeated history by being voted 2014 World Car of the Year.” Indeed, the vehicle showed the technical competence and engineering marvel in all aspects of design and performance. Boasting of some of the most futuristic technologies like drivetrain, highly secure driving assistance, mobile infotainment and lightweight engineering, the A3 is elegance personified.

The A3 is currently available in Sedan, Cabriolet and Sportback flavors. It is powered by a highly efficient TDI diesel engine and gasoline. This is a perfect start of a green car since it runs on e-gas which emits minimum exhaust and also minimizes air pollution. The innovative g-tron system neutralizes all carbon dioxide from gasoline exhaustion before letting it out into the air.

Later this year, we can also expect an A3 Sportback model that will be capable of running up to 50 kilometers powered by just a battery! We have already heard about the new Audi-energy available to customers in Germany. This is an entirely new market segment that Audi addresses to, and we are pretty sure that this technology will grow in no time.
