Five new car features that make family life easier

When you have kids, life can be very busy and taking everyone out for a ride in the car – no matter if it’s a long-distance trip or a quick trip to the shops – can be challenging and stressful.

StreetFleet has listed five great new car features that every parent should know about and that will make life just a little bit easier.

An integrated two-stage booster seats

StreetFleet - integrated booster seatTime for your kids to move into a booster seat but tired of dragging it in and out the car over and over again? Volvo now offers integrated two-stage booster seats, whereby the seat base pops up and can be locked at two different heights. This feature is available across a range of models including the XC60 and XC90.

Hands-free tailgate

StreetFleet - hands-free tailgate

Out shopping with the family and no free hands? No problem when you have a hands-free tailgate! No more having to put bags or kids on the ground, no more fishing around in an overloaded bag for keys. Thanks to a smart feature, called proximity sensors, a wave of the foot or elbow is enough to open the booth. A popular feature now available in the Ford Kuga, Hyundai Tucson and Nissan X-Trail.

Built-in table

Keep the kids entertained and quiet by letting them play board games or computer games on this great fold-out table with multiple storage areas. Available in the Volkswagen Multivan.

ISOFIX compatibility

StreetFleet - Isofix system

Install you child seat safely and securely thanks to ISOFIX system. Okay, they are not really a new feature as ISOFIX anchor-points have been installed in Australian cars for some years now, but it’s only recently that we’ve been allowed to use them.

Available in a range of brands, including the Audi Q7, Holden Commodore VFII, Citroen Grand C4 Picasso and Tesla Model S.

Parents’ mirror

StreetFleet - parents' mirror

Want to know what the kids are up to in the back? This second mirror provides peace of mind and sits above the rear-vision mirror and provides a birds-eye-view of the back of your car. Available in the Kia Carnival, Toyota Kluger and Citroen Grand C4 Picasso.

Thinking about getting a new family car? Consider a StreetFleet novated lease (if your employer allows salary packaging), an operating/finance lease or perhaps one of StreetFleet’s ex-lease vehicles.
