Top 3 car models
- Mazda 3 – The top selling car has retained its spot since the beginning of Jan ’14, but is facing tremendous competition from the 2nd placed Toyota Corolla.
- Toyota Corolla – Though it faced a massive gap of 50,000 units in Jan ’14 as compared to Mazda 3, clever positioning and aggressive marketing has seen Toyota Corolla close this gap to just 358 units now.
- Toyota HiLux – It maintains its third spot, despite a drop in sales of its popular 4X4 variant.
Top 25 car brands
While the leaderboard doesn’t see much of a change, trends ensure that the end of 2014 will be a lose fight between leading car brands. For now, here are the top 25 car brands –
- Toyota – Despite a 4.7% drop in sales, Toyota leads the race with 101,105 units
- Holden – Topples Mazda for second spot at 56,773 units
- Mazda – Though Mazda 3 leads the race in top car models, the brand has slipped to third spot with 51,910 units
