On Sunday 18th March 2012, the Smith Motor Group (of which StreetFleet is a part) entered a team, captained by our own James Ehmann, in the Mt Lofty Challenge to raise money for the Smith Family. There were a variety of courses available, with our team fielding riders in each – including several in the gruelling 110km ride through the hills.
This was the first time the freeway was closed for such an event, enabling riders to ride through the Heysen tunnel in Adelaide. Despite two injuries on the day, the team performed well and managed to raise $2500 towards the appeal.
An extra special mention needs to go to Rudi and Rachel (not pictured) who sustained broken bones on the day! A true indication of how tough the ride was; we wish you both a speedy recovery. Also to our support crew of 1: Maebe, thankyou for cooking the BBQ and giving out drinks for our riders on the day. Without you, we would’ve been hungry.
Congratulations to all of the riders on the day.
