Fans of the series Breaking Bad will recognise the 2001 Pontiac Aztec. Not a car that (thankfully) we ever saw in Australia, it recently popped up again on one of our searches and was too good not to share!
Made by the good people at GM, it was a stand-out example of the first wave of ‘cross over’ vehicles that combined two different vehicles into one (think of the Nissan Dualis, Holden Crewman etc) to make a whole new type of vehicle.
While it scored quite well in most reviews for safety and comfort, its styling quite clearly let it down and sales soon tanked with it never actually breaking even in any production year, ceasing in 2005, with only 119,694 being sold… ever.
It was released with the tagline: “Quite possibly the most versatile vehicle on the planet.”
